An example of Regency Era fashionable material for a dress in Jane Austen’s style.
Fabric used is a printed cotton with the same bud and flower in shades of pink, rich brown, soft orange and yellow, green and blue on a maroon/dark brown ground and then glazed.
The bodice of the dress has a deep neckline with linen ties for gathering.
There is a horizontal seam above the bust and a gathered waist with ties.
The long sleeves are shaped and have three covered buttons at the wrist, the back with back shoulder and high waist to lower shoulder seaming.
The skirt falls from pleats at the back and the bodice is lined with linen and has separate closures with hooks and eyes.
